The fashion world is in a bit of a tizzy today as pictures are being blasted around the world showing Fist Lady, Michelle Obama, wearing cropped white tuxedo trousers and a casual silk off-the-shoulder top by British design duo Basso & Brooke, her attire while attending An Evening of Poetry, Music and the Spoken Word in the East Room of the White House.
The collection is quite pretty - its a play on Japanese prints and fabrics. You can click here to see the full collection. What is more interesting is the attention it is getting. Does this happen in France when Carla Bruni dares to wear something non- French? I feel sort of sad for her actually. I am sure it is hard enough to have to get use to having everything you wear dissected and analyzed, never mind also having to factor in the political ramifications of who you wear. And I thought movie stars had it hard for being under the microscope.

I love Basso and Brooke. I think she looks pretty, but I'm sure most think this is inappropriate with the shoulder showing and a bit too casual.
She looks absolutely STUNNING!!!! AMAZING!!! I need this top urgently! Vivi xx
