Celebrity Vintage Spot - Drew Barrymore

Drew has made appearances on this blog before - I loved her in Grey Gardens and she certainly has done vintage on the red carpet a few times. I am always happy to post a "repeat" defender of vintage so here she is ain this at the Nylon and Express Denim Issue Party in West Hollywood.

I was so pleased to find out that Grey Gardens would be shown here in Canada last night and made a point to watch it. I was blown away. Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange where phenomenal in this film. When it ended I turned to My Guy and said - we MUST track down the original documentary to watch and then 3 seconds later found out that HBO was running it as well! It was an extraordinary thing to see the real Beales just moments after seeing Drew & Jessica's portrayal's. I loved the movie, loved the wardrobes, loved the acting, loved everythign about this film. If you did not get a chance to see it - make sure you catch a repeat and pray they run the new film back to back with the original documentary.

These two women blew it out of the park with their perfomances and Drew Barrymore has once and for all proved that not only is she pretty on the red carpet but that she, like Jessica, is a bona fide Movie STAR.

Spotted - Drew Barrymore

I did warn you that it was probably going to be Drew Barrymore week around here and her ensemble yesterday makes it hard to buck the trend. Wearing another old school Hollywood style ruched Giambattista Valli Pre-Fall 2009 ruched dress with dramatic puff sleeves our Drew is certainly bringing back the glamour. It may be a dress you only get one occasion to wear in your entire lifetime but as a movie starlet I would say that Drew gets to go a little over the top so the rest of us remember what a little glamour can do.

Celebrity Vintage Spot - Drew Barrymore

Looks like its going to be Drew Barrymore week here at the Shrimpton Blog. Drew is out and about promoting Grey Gardens and looking quite smashing. She wears an Alberta Ferretti dress that has definite 1930s inspired lines, along with a vintage headpiece. I think she looks absolutely lovely and its nice to see a bit of old Hollywood glam return to the Red Carpet - even if, as in this case, that carpet is black. All the better the set off the dress my dear.
